Missed Connection – Doubles

Ed. Note: If this was you, please email [email protected] so I can put you in touch with OP.

“Dear PoPville,

MISSED CONNECTION: we ran into each other leaving Double’s back patio Sunday AM, just after 11AM, with our two medium sized dogs, and followed each other out onto the sidewalk.

You headed north on Georgia Ave!

You: Tallish, glasses, green-blue colorblock down jacket, sneakers (maybe Allbirds?) that sort of matched. Your dog had a cute nutty name and was an excellent, sweet floof and you stopped me and my friend and my dog to ask if the dogs could say hi

Me: Brunette, med height, with a brunette friend, and rushing out, explaining my dog isn’t always friendly (though he seemed to like yours). He has one blue eye and one brown eye, a human name, and was sniffing around some trees after greeting your pupper-nut.

Anyway, got a flirty vibe, but I was running so late to another meeting and was also too cold to chat on the sidewalk (the Doubles patio is so cozy and toasty!)! Send me your dog’s name if you think this is you!”

Ed. Note: If this is you, please email [email protected] so I can put you in touch with OP. PoPville is not affiliated with either party, please proceed with any potential connection at your own risk using caution as you would any online encounter. For those curious about past missed connections, many have been made and when possible I’ll try to update when/if more are made. The outside EllE on Valentine’s Day MC was made!

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
