A volunteer organization I am part of, Lasagna Love, delivers homemade Lasagnas to families in DC. There are more requests than volunteers available to make Lasagnas in DC. In DC, there is a backlog of 60 families requesting a lasagna due to health reasons, financial situations, life events, etc. On average, it takes about $15- $20 to make each lasagna. If anyone is looking for a volunteer opportunity in DC, please check out Lasagna Love and sign up.
Volunteering is easy and you can sign up once or many times!
You sign up for a week you’d like to make a lasagna, you are matched with a recipient based on the geography you outline, you send a text confirming time/location to drop the lasagna with the recipient, you make a homemade lasagna at your home, and you deliver it to their doorstep with a text that it’s been delivered. It’s all anonymous.

Then, it’s time to dust. Lexi starts with high-touch surface areas (think: refrigerator, dishwasher, counters, microwave). One area she sees often neglected is the bedroom — and it makes sense. Heavy furniture is difficult to move around, but it’s important to really get in there so dust doesn’t affect your sleep.
