I was on my way home from the airport Sunday afternoon,
trailing a suitcase and wearing the same black jacket and white shirt I had just spent the night partying in in Tokyo. Waiting for the red line train at Metro Center, I locked eyes a few times with a cute girl wearing a Georgetown shirt before we both boarded together. She was talking to her friend, who seemed like she was visiting from out of town, and I was too polite or perhaps just tired from jetlag to interrupt their conversation — though I wish I had.”
