Well-Paid Maids Reflects on Its Biggest Wins of 2022

Everyone is sharing their 2022 recaps on social media… so we figured we would, too!

This year was a big one for Well-Paid Maids, D.C.’s living-wage cleaning company. Here are a few of our favorite wins:

⭐️ All of our cleaners were fully vaccinated… and boosted!

⭐️ We expanded our operations into New York — let your NYC friends know!

⭐️ We supported Maryland’s paid family and medical leave program, which passed April 9.

⭐️ Our founder, Aaron Seyedian, spoke with the Department of Labor about the importance of workplace flexibility.

⭐️ We were voted Best Maid Service in D.C. for the second year in a row.

⭐️ We surpassed 100 Yelp reviews with a 5-star average.

⭐️ We supported D.C.’s Domestic Workers Bill of Rights, which passed Dec. 20. (More on that in an upcoming post from us!)

As always, thank you for your support.

In 2023, we’ll continue to pay our employees fair living wages starting at $22 an hour and offer benefits like insurance and 24 paid days off a year.

We’re excited to see what the new year brings, and we look forward to cleaning your home!

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
