Holiday Season Means Decking the Halls — with Volanni Flower Designs

Volanni brings sophisticated floral designs to homes and offices; order soon for the holidays!

It’s the time of year when we decorate the house with decorative holiday cheer, including wreaths, bunting, lights, and ornaments — and beautifully designed flower arrangements, which add an air of sophistication to the season’s festivities.

Volanni, the renowned Southeast florist that specializes in events and parties as well as households, creates artistically curated floral and plant designs that excite the senses as well as heighten the sensations of the season. Owner Michael Lanni brings an artist’s flair to carefully crafted “floral sculptures,” with each bouquet, wreath, gift basket, and arrangement a custom-made work of art.

The emphasis is on great designs using flowers and plants as the artistic medium. It’s Volanni’s passion to create designs that bring the client peace and pride and make a lasting impression on friends and family. (See the holiday designs here.)

Now is the time — and it’s moving quickly — to order holiday arrangements and decorations for homes, offices, and building lobbies for delivery or in-store pickup. Browse the galleries online and order through the website, by phone, or email.

Volanni is located at 218 9th Street SE, not far from Eastern Market on Capitol Hill. Hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday to Friday, closed weekends except for events. Call 202-547-1603 or email at [email protected] or Michael Lanni at [email protected].

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
