Captain Cookie: “if all goes well we are now hoping for a grand opening early next year”

3411 Connecticut Ave, NW

Update from Captain Cookie:

We are under construction now in Cleveland Park! Building new locations in this post-pandemic era has proven remarkably slow for several reasons that are complex and outside of our control, so we’ve had to exercise a lot of patience! But it is very exciting to now have the ball in our court, so to speak, and work is underway – if all goes well we are now hoping for a grand opening early next year.

We really appreciate all the support the neighborhood has given us – we’ve gotten such a warm welcome from so many of our new neighbors and we remain excited to have a permanent presence after many visits for both vending and private events that our trucks have done over the past 10 years. We are looking forward to also bringing our mission to Save the World One Cookie at a Time to the neighborhood, since we are really big into giving back!

You also mentioned the vacancy sticker that’s on our window. As far as I have been able to figure, you are correct that it seems to just require a bureaucratic resolution, but unfortunately a tenant (which is what we are) is not able to resolve that matter. Apparently the landlord has to resolve it, and I believe the vacancy categorization was triggered by conditions that existed prior to our possession of the space. We’ve sent along info to our landlord from DC regarding what steps they need to take to resolve it and are confident the landlord will take whatever action is needed.”

We’re about a month out from summer. That means you’ve still got time for spring cleaning!

Lexi Grant, an operations manager at Well-Paid Maids, shared her go-to spring cleaning tips with WTOP News. Step one? Declutter. Get rid of items you don’t use, find space for items that need a home and organize those areas.

Then, it’s time to dust. Lexi starts with high-touch surface areas (think: refrigerator, dishwasher, counters, microwave). One area she sees often neglected is the bedroom — and it makes sense. Heavy furniture is difficult to move around, but it’s important to really get in there so dust doesn’t affect your sleep.
