About preshift!:
‘preshift!’ is a beverage experience developed by two resident natural wine lovers: Julianny Gómez (they/she) and Dante Clark (he/him). Their mission is to create safe and fun spaces for folks of all experiences to taste delicious wine while nurturing curiosities about how the beverage in their glass was made. This pop-up is important to Julianny and Dante because not only is it a dope opportunity for them to pour cool stuff from winemakers they love, but it’s also a chance for them to prove how fun, unpretentious, & accessible wine can actually be.

About Julianny Gomez:
Julianny Gomez (they/she) is a former public school teacher, and a somm-in-training who’s super passionate about great wine; made by folks who respect the land while treating their employees ethically. Their favorite grape is gewürtztraminer and they hope to make learning about wine just as fun as it is to drink it.

About Dante Clark:
Dante Clark (he/him) is a wine fanatic, writer, hospitality pro, & sometimes even an occasional sommelier. His favorite grape is pinot noir and his goal is to scrap that pretentiousness that comes with a historically highfalutin wine culture.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
