Lost Generation Brewing Company coming to Eckington

327 S Street, NE

Thanks to R Sverd for sending: “oooh new brewery signage in Eckington @ 4th & S St NE steps away from the MBT”

“Lost Generation Brewing Co. will be opening in Eckington, D.C. this summer, bringing you craft lagers, IPA’s and assorted deliciousness.”

Lost Generation’s website says:

“Lost Generation started as a dream whispered between husband and wife late at night, often several beers in. Disillusioned with the local brewing scene here in D.C. during the aughts, we packed up and moved to California to work with the towering giants of the brewing industry, but always with that lingering promise whispered years before, that we would come home and build the brewery we had wished for back then.

Beer drives us. It unites us. We painstakingly choose the best hop lots to make IPA that inspires, take time and care with our lagers to make sure they will amaze, and hand pick our aging program barrels to ensure that what comes out will always impress. We believe that if you’re going to do it, do it right and do it well. And that’s because we make beer for people we love: family, friends, neighbors, and even those who are just goddamned thirsty.

We also realize that no brewery could survive without the community that supports it, which is why we partner with local charities and artists. After all, the brewing industry is all about reciprocity, collaboration and community.

In here we believe that each pour is an invitation to be one of us. As Gertrude Stein once said, “You are all a Lost Generation.” In here we hold that to be true. We are all one and the same, so let’s raise a glass and have a beer together.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
