We’re back on the normal summer open house grind with 330+ slated across the District this weekend. If you have the energy to endure the D.C. swampiness and heat, it’s still a good time to find your new home before interest rates rise any further. Take a look at our suggested open houses below and to see the full Open House List, click here.
- 624 Pickford Place NE — $850,000 — Capitol Hill/H Street
Open Sun. 1-3 p.m. — Metro DC Houses
“Nestled on a quiet one way street in the heart of Capitol Hill, the property boasts a 2-story window that casts light throughout the property. With 2 bed, 1.5 bath it has everything a penthouse condo would have less the condo fees. The private oasis of a yard is perfect for entertaining and just blocks from bustling H Street, which has everything from award winning restaurants to grocery and even gritty to fancy workout options. Both bedrooms feature good closet space and the main level open floor concept is airy while still allowing for a natural feel of room space because of the layout. There is a wood burning fireplace and the kitchen has everything one needs with stainless steel appliances: stove, refrigerator, built-in microwave and dishwasher. There is a full size washer and dryer and the property has central HVAC. The neighborhood has parks with basketball and tennis courts. While it is within steps of Union Station, because the street is only one block long, it is extremely quiet and most of the foot traffic is for individuals that live on this small enclave on the Hill.” - 608 Quincy Street NW — $875,000 — Petworth/Park View

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!
The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!
What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
