Want to be in the heart of it all as this chapter of quarantine comes to a close? Look no further than this huge, recently-renovated 750-square foot unit on the ground level (NOT a basement) with tons of light. Located 1.5 blocks from the Orange / Blue / Silver Metro lines and close to biking and running trails for easy commute and/or excercise. Enjoy in-unit washer/dryer and dishwasher as well as patio access (shared with upstairs unit).

This apartment was remodeled in December 2020. Remodel included gorgeous new flooring, new stainless steel appliances, new countertop, new bathroom vanity, and new subway bathroom tile. The apartment also features high ceilings, central heating and air conditioning (new Sept 2018), and an energy-saving Nest smart thermostat.

The master bedroom is spacious enough for a queen size bed with dresser and has a double-wide closet. There is a full bathroom (refinished tub and shower); and a large living room for entertaining with dual closets and a decorative fireplace (this room could also double as a second bedroom with closets to boot).

The kitchen features stainless steel appliances (including full-size oven, fridge and dishwasher).

Ample closet storage throughout the apartment with 4 large closets in addition to the bedroom closet (5 closets in total). A previous tenant said the closet space and the great location is what she’d miss most (which is a definite selling point in DC!).

Located in the Hill East / Barney Circle neighborhood of SE DC the apartment is just 1.5 blocks from the Potomac Ave Metro (Orange/Blue/Silver Lines) plus plenty of bus lines and circulators (Circulator, 39, 30N, 30S, 32, 34, 36, V4, V1, B2) running nearby.

Only a few blocks from Safeway grocery store and 7 blocks to the Trader Joe’s. 2 Whole Foods (H Street and Navy Yard) and Harris Teeter (Navy Yard), are within 2 miles. 3 Capital Bikeshare stations within blocks. Entrance to a running and cycling trail is only 1 block from the front door.

Within a block of the fancy dining hall concept “The Roost” (check out their orange soda braised beef tacos!). Less than 10 minute walk to Eastern Market and Barracks Row, which feature dining (including Rose’s Luxury, Pineapple and Pearl, and Little Pearl), Call Your Mother Bagels, shops, a public library, and nightlife, as well as Trader Joe’s.

Parking for compact car (mini or fiat) available on property. Alternatively, zone 6 parking is plentiful in the neighborhood.

The minimum lease term is for one year. Tenants are responsible for separately-metered electricity. Sorry, no smoking/vaping of any kind. One small dog-friendly dog allowed for an additional fee at landlords’ discretion.

Live on the same street as the Capitol Building – with gorgeous sunsets!”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
