Real Estate Fresh Finds: March 16

Real Estate Fresh Finds is a weekly selection of newly-listed properties in the District, brought to you by RLAH Real Estate.

Featured Property of the Week: 641 14th Place NE

“Set on one of the quietest streets on Capitol Hill, this Federal charmer with nearly 1,800 square feet of living over three floors can’t be missed! With 4 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, original hardwood floors, soaring ceilings, brand new paint throughout, and an Airbnb option or in-law/nanny suite in the lower level with 8-foot ceilings! This home has a new chef’s kitchen with tons of storage, a beautiful eat-in island and gas cooking attached to a large dining area perfect for the holidays! Entertain in the rear family room and step out the sliding glass doors onto your patio. PLUS… off-street parking or use the backyard for entertaining! With 3 bedrooms upstairs including a light-filled west-facing [window in] the primary and large bathroom. The newly dugout lower level has been used by the current owners as an Airbnb with over $1500 in monthly income for the past few years even during COVID. Now with new flooring updates and a new dishwasher, you could easily charge nearly $100/night! It has a full bathroom and an additional bedroom with two mini-splits for comfort. The home has a brand new roof as of February 2022 and a new HVAC system within the past few years. Set in the highly sought after H-Street corridor and only blocks to bars, restaurants, and the trolley stop, this won’t last long!”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
