Your Afternoon Animal Fix – AdoPtville

If you have any animal/pet photos you’d like to share for the regular fix please send an email to princeofpetworth(at)gmail(dot)com with ‘Animal Fix’ in the title and say the name of your pet and your neighborhood. AdoPtville is run by a volunteer who compiles these pets weekly from local shelters.

Meet Chance! Chance is a very friendly 9 m/o, 40 lb Collie mix who is always eager to say hello to people and other animals. Easily adaptable to new situations, he swiftly settled in and is already better at leash walking than his fosters’ two resident dogs! He also quickly learned the word “sit.” Chance trusts easily and seeks out his human’s company. He is often snuggled next to his humans while hanging out and is the perfect blend of playful and mellow. While he loves to play and chew toys, he also easily calms down and relaxes. Chance does well with a few daily walks and enjoys playing at the dog park as well as fetch with his person. Chance is such a sweet dog and will make his adopter so happy! Apply today to bring him home at bit.ly/adoptablechance.

Loki is a super chill guy, whose absolute number one priority is love and affection from his human pals. He’s the sort of cat who runs up to the door when you get home and will greet you with his one-of-a-kind silly meow and deep gentlemanly purr. If you’re sitting on the couch, he’ll be there in no time to keep you company and snuggle up in a cat loaf by your side. His foster family calls him a “big orange teddy bear of a cat” who will purr up a storm. All this low key, affectionate 7 y/o, 8 lb DSH needs to be happy is the love of a forever home. Could that home be yours? Loki sure hopes so. Apply today at bit.ly/adoptloki!

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
