Capo Italian Deli
The popular italian sub shop that originated in Shaw and specializes in deli-style sub rolls with Boar’s Head meats properly sliced in front of you, in-house cooked roast beef, chicken parmigiana, special homemade Italian dressing and even witty cocktails, such as their popular “Fauci Pouchy.” Capo’s second brick-and-mortar location has reminiscents of the old school, hearty traditional italian deli’s found in cities like New York, Philadelphia and Boston with traditional classics found in your hometown deli to experience at Western Market.

Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls
Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls is a fast-casual concept, serving authentic, simply-prepared lobster rolls since the 2014 opening of their flagship in Annapolis, Maryland. Mason’s serves sustainable Maine Lobster, Crab, and Shrimp Rolls, Chowders, Bisques, and Maine Root sodas all direct from Maine. With locations all of the east coast, the Western Market location will be the latest location in Washington D.C.

RAWish
RAWish, a new concept from Gangster Vegan DMV owners James and Taneea Yarborough, offers an organic raw menu of creative salads, sandwiches, bowls, smoothies, and freshly pressed juices and nut milks. With a focus on making nutritious food affordable and accessible, RAWish is an exciting new chapter in the Yarboroughs’ commitment to re-inventing the plant-based lifestyle. The couple owns two Gangster Vegan locations (in Baltimore’s Cross Street Market and in Riverdale, MD).

Roaming Rooster
Roaming Rooster puts a modern spin on classic, homestyle southern fried chicken, using only hormone- and antibiotic-free grain-fed free-range chicken. The popular eatery that started as a single food truck in 2015 and rapidly expanded to a fleet of four trucks and a location in Woodridge, will open its second brick-and-mortar at Western Market. Roaming Rooster has not only a dedicated local following, but also received national attention during last year’s #chickenwars.”

Alitiko
Newcomer Alitiko, from the Greek word for punk, is rooted in owner Dimitri Piskapas’ childhood in Greece. The Greco-Middle Eastern menu is inspired by classic Greek street foods – gyros, sandwiches, and fresh Mediterranean sides. The new concept’s inaugural menu includes cucumber & zucchini fritters, slow-roasted shawarma, glazed pork neck, and house cut fries.

Arepa Zone
What began as a bright yellow food truck in 2014, Arepa Zone now serves guests at locations in downtown D.C. and inside Audi Field. Best known for arepas, cachapas, and tequeños, the popular eatery will offer authentic Venezuelan food to diners in Foggy Bottom with its latest expansion at Western Market. The large menu will easily satisfy meat lovers and vegetarians alike.

Bandoola Bowl
The Southeast Asian salad shop is the latest concept from The Myint Family, which also operates Mandalay restaurant in Silver Spring, MD, and the original Bandoola Bowl in Georgetown. The new location at Western Market brings flavors from Burma, Vietnam, Thailand, and beyond highlighted across a menu of fresh ingredients. Guests will enjoy customized salad or warm bowls, topped with spicy rice noodles or brown rice and a variety of proteins, spices, fruits, vegetables, and garnishes.

Nim Ali
The Guatemalan street food concept started as a pop-up inside Jake’s Tavern in Shaw earlier this year, and lands at Western Market with a variety of snacks and full plates including shukos (street hot dogs), antojitos, mixtas, tacos and more. Owners Rosario Guzman and Karla Alonzo chose the name Nim Ali in reverence to the Guatemalan nickname given to female family leaders, referencial to a strong Mayan queen.

Sushi Onkei
Sushi Onkei will offer authentic Japanese cuisine in a sleek, modern sushi bar, designed for an exceptional dining experience. Ferry Huang, owner of Glover Park’s Sushi Keiko and master of Japanese cuisine, will bring more of his East-meets-West small plates and fine wines to this new concept.

Tigerella
The talents behind Mount Pleasant neighborhood favorite Elle will open the new Tigerella concept at Western Market. The planned menu includes a variety of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options ranging from morning pastries, baked goods, and coffee to sandwiches, dessert, and a full bar. New menu items will be added specifically for the Western Market location.

2022 Opening:

ExPat

ExPat Hospitality, from partners Chef Tim Ma (American Son/Lucky Danger), Jonas Singer (Union Kitchen/Blind Dog Cafe), and Ben Sislen (Kingfisher/The Crown and the Crow) will open the group’s first venue in Western Market and join the food hall’s diverse restaurants in early 2022. ExPat, a new full- social bar and restaurant concept, will be the largest restaurant in Western Market, offering a barbecue menu with southern staples and featuring sports betting components on its own technology platform, where diners will be able to place sports bets on their own smartphones.”
