Ed. Note: If this is you, please email [email protected] so I can put you in touch with OP. PoPville is not affiliated with either party, please proceed with any potential connection at your own risk using caution as you would any online encounter. For those curious about past missed connections, some have been made and when possible I’ll try to update when/if more are made.

“Dear PoPville,

You were out running on Nevada Ave NW, near Chevy Chase, DC, this morning (Wednesday) around 8:30am, wearing a grey shirt, black shorts, and a blue hat (I appreciate it wasn’t backwards). I was walking my dog as you passed by. I should’ve said hi but hadn’t had my coffee yet, so my brain was working slowly.

If you’re interested in grabbing that cup of coffee, let me know.”

“I had a missed connection at Anafre on Sunday, September 5th. She was sitting with a nice couple a table over – she was wearing a yellow shirt with some type of handprints on it. I was trying my best not to ease drop but I heard her talking about (hopefully complaining) her dating life. She mentioned one guy laughs at all of her jokes, which she likes, and said something about another date. Anyways, she commented on how my dog was living his best life while taking up way too much room. We chatted for a minute and when she left she said something to and my dog and all I could say in rerun was, “you too.”

I’d love to go back to Anafre and laugh at all of your jokes.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
