Today’s Rental was chosen because it’s been a minute since we had one from Shaw

This rental is located at Q Street NW near Marion Street NW. The Craigslist ad says:

“$1,750 / 425ft2 – Renovated open studio! W/D in unit. A/C. Pets OK! (Shaw (Marion and Q NW))

This studio is recently renovated with stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and all stainless steel appliances as well as an open floor plan. It comes with a standard size washer and dryer and dishwasher. It also has a wall unit for air conditioning and heat.

Here is a video of the apartment: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_5e7g8WUxA

The apartment is located just 2 blocks from the Shaw Metro Station (Green and Yellow lines) and a block from all that Shaw has to offer including Compass Coffee, Lost and Found, Dacha Beer Garden, Convivial and more! In addition to the Metro, the 50s, 70s, 90s and G bus lines are all within walking distance. It’s also a quick walk to the U Street Corridor, Logan Circle, Mt. Vernon Square and you can even walk to downtown.

It is part of a condo building and can only be accessed with a key fob (very secure). It is on a quiet street so you won’t be bothered with the noise from all the restaurants, bars and shopping nearby.

Pets are allowed in this building!

Check out the pictures* and if you have any questions, comments, etc, let me know. I look forward to hearing from you!

Summary:
– Large renovated studio
– Located in the heart of Shaw
– Pets are allowed
– Includes a washer and dryer, dishwasher and central AC
– Right near the Metro and many bus lines
– Secure building
– Open floor plan

*Although the pictures include the apartment with furniture, this apartment is unfurnished.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
