“Dear PoPville,

I exchanged multiple sweet glances & smiles with a cute tall fella walking his pup down Adams Mill Road (Saturday around 11am). I was practicing yoga at Walter Pierce Park dressed in black & polka dotted leggings. Would love to connect if you’re available!”

“Dear Popville,

I’d like to report a missed connection! You (male, white, tall, 30s) were watering your plants with a hose in your front yard on 14th and T (1:30pm on Friday, June 18). I (female, white, tallish, 30) was walking by in a bright orange Hoos shirt, wearing AirPods, drinking an iced coffee. We locked eyes for a moment and smiled and it was electric!”

“Dear Popville,

I’ve seen a woman at the Banneker Track 3 times while exercising there. Today (Monday June 14) was the third time I’ve seen her and I promised myself if I saw her a third time I’d at least say “hello.” Each time she’s walking her cute small brown dog. Brown hair and tall and I think she recently got a really cute haircut. Everytime I’m there she’s on the phone and I never want to disturb her, and definitely don’t want to make her feel uncomfortable if I see her again in the future! We usually make eye contact and I always want to say hi, but again she’s on the phone. I’m the guy with the headband usually jumping rope.”

“Dear PoPville,

I’m hoping to get in touch with a guy named John who I chatted with multiple times over the past few months, but never had a chance to exchange numbers with. He was a regular at the establishment where I worked in The Shay development, and we talked often about music/concerts and our respective weekend plans as well as his band t-shirts and trip to Mexico. I’d really love to connect with him and go out for coffee, even just as friends depending on his love life sitch!”

Ed. Note: If any of these are you, please email [email protected] so I can put you in touch with OP. PoPville is not affiliated with either party, please proceed with any potential connection at your own risk using caution as you would any online encounter. For those curious about past missed connections, some have been made and when possible I’ll try to update when/if more are made.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
