  • 4539 43rd Place NW — $1,773,000 — American University Park
    Open Fri. 3-5 p.m. — Liz Ho
“Welcome home to a light-filled spacious retreat in the heart of close-in Tenleytown/AU Park! No detail was left untouched in this modern take on a craftsman classic. From the moment you meet the home, you’re greeted by full, green plantings, which provide privacy for the peaceful front porch. Enter through the custom craftsman doorway and find a beautiful entryway complete with a deep entryway closet. As you walk through, you’ll be instantly impressed by the showstopper living room and convenient light-filled office/bedroom #1… right off the side of the living room! Walking through the hallway, you’re met with the generous guest bedroom #2 and full guest bathroom complete with a beautiful glass-walled shower. The formal dining room takes on a relaxed feel as it connects to the bar/custom nook and is in clear view of the roomy family-entertaining room. Enjoy your cup of coffee sitting at the kitchen island, finished in gorgeous high-end quartz, or spend your Tuesday night cooking up a storm on the stainless steel appliances, thanks to the perfectly-appointed layout. (Yes, that is a Sub-Zero fridge!) Head up the stairs to the third and fourth bedrooms, and you’ll find great closet space and stylish touches tucked into every spot. The second full bath reveals more modern finishes and a practical bath complete with a tub. A bonus: The washer/dryer is already upstairs — you won’t even have to move it! The fifth and primary bedroom is a spacious, chic haven all its own… complete with the en-suite bathroom of your dreams and light-filled walk-in closet! The ample master bedroom faces the lush backyard. The master bathroom is ready for your Sunday afternoon bathtub soak, or early morning pre-work prep with your shower and dressing room beautifully planned together. Let’s not forget to hop down to the basement, designed by Saltbox architects. Temporarily used as a learning pod this past year, it is ready for you to make it all your own! Multiple spaces combine into an open floor plan, with a utility and storage room conveniently behind closed doors. A fully renovated basement bathroom, funky mod storage lockers, and access to the drive-in garage is great for all your plans! Don’t miss the EV outlet in the garage for your electric car. The home also comes with a fantastic set of *owned* solar panels to save you energy costs all year long. This is also the perfect time of year to take advantage of the restful backyard — walk off the gourmet kitchen down onto the perfect hosting patio… and around the privacy plantings to the charming herb and vegetable garden space! What more can we say? Welcome home”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
