Real Estate Fresh Finds: March 17

Real Estate Fresh Finds is a weekly selection of newly-listed properties in the District, brought to you by Real Living At Home.

Featured Property of the Week: 204 Beacon Place NE

“This lovely colonial style home is nestled by crape myrtle trees on either side nurtured by the in-ground irrigation system. You might easily forget that you’re in the city. But with nearly 3,000 square feet of living space to call home, you might not even see much of the neighborhood! This Hampshires home also boasts a private outdoor patio and deck, as well as a generous balcony behind elegant French doors in the spacious, cathedral-ceilinged owner’s suite with custom his and hers closets and a cozy ensuite bathroom! If this all sounds like music to your ears, that might actually be the built-in Bose sound system, but this song is just getting started! Step further into the formal dining room, where you’ll satisfy more than taste with a gorgeous bay window with banquette. Or, shut the world out in the first-floor space that’s perfect for a dedicated library, sitting room or study. You’ll find this flexible theme repeated throughout this lovely four-bedroom home, where you’ll find an additional bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and one that might become a home gym. Or would that be better suited to the third-floor loft space? Now you’re cooking! Rather, you will be — with gas — in the gourmet kitchen with double ovens, granite counters, and an island that flows right into the family room, where even the coldest winters are cozy, thanks to that glowing gas fireplace. In warmer months, entertaining couldn’t be easier as the family room’s French doors open right onto that aforementioned patio.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
