Shootings/Shots Fired Reported Last Night in Brookland and Brightwood Park (Kennedy Street)

From MPD:

“The Fourth District is investigating a shooting that occurred in the 300 block of Kennedy Street NW, on March 4, 2021, at approximately 8 pm.

The victim’s vehicle was struck by gunfire and there were no injuries of anyone inside. The suspects were seen fleeing in a dark SUV eastbound in the 300 block of Kennedy Street NW. Anyone with information or video is asked to call the Metropolitan Police Department at 202-727-9099.”

EPG writes: “dunno how this got overlooked yesterday. Two people were hit in a shooting that took place in America’s Best Wings in the Brookland Shopping Center around 6:15pm last evening.”

“The Fourth District is investigating a shooting in the 3700 block of 10th Street NE on March 4, 2021, at approximately 6:15 p.m. The suspect is described as a black male small in build wearing a jacket and Blue jeans armed with a handgun and was last seen fleeing north on 10th Street NE. Anyone with information or video is asked to call the Metropolitan Police Department at 202-727-9099.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
