Ed. Note: If this is you, please email [email protected] so I can put you in touch with OP. PoPville is not affiliated with either party, please proceed with any potential connection at your own risk using caution as you would any online encounter. For those curious about passed missed connections, some have been made and when possible I’ll try to update when/if more are made.

“Dear Popville,

I had a missed connection this afternoon at the CVS at 14th and W NW. A neighbor in need asked me if I could lend her some money to get somewhere warm today. She needed $75, and I told her I could get her half way there.

When I went inside to the ATM a tall man with brown eyes, probably in his late 30’s, approached me and asked if he could help.

He gave me $40 to contribute and said he saw me talking to her and wanted to help her at least get a warm meal because she seemed so distressed. He was carrying a Sweetgreen bag.

I was struck by how he went out of his way to help out, and he looked pretty handsome from what I could see under his mask. I’d like to talk to him if is available and happens to see this.

I was the gal with glasses in a navy coat fumbling around at the ATM.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
