“Need delicious locally-made bacon? We got you covered.”

From an email:

“The team behind Ivy and Coney, DC’s premier hot dog sandwich and Detroit pizza shop, is pleased to announce a new addition to their friendly confines: A Meatcar Named Desire. Need delicious locally-made bacon? We got you covered. Yearning for a district brewed beer to celebrate the return of democracy? We can quench that. In short, AMND aims to be your little market for great locally made food and drink. We’re starting with some of our favorites, but hope to progressively grow the wares on offer at AMND with items curated and created by District bartenders, chefs and artisans.

Our goal is to keep your fridge and bar stocked with locally made products you might not be able to find at the grocery store. Everything will be available for both pickup and delivery through DC To-GoGo. Think hot sauces, cocktail packages and meal kits made by industry people with a passion for creating great stuff. A Meatcar Named Desire is our little attempt to brighten your day and, at the same time, assist our fellow service industry members.

Initial items on offer:

-Salami, fresh sausage and other charcuterie from MeatCrafters
-DC’s finest bacon, ham and other smoked provisions from EpicCuring
-Bottled craft cocktails from Tincture Co.
-Local craft beers from breweries like Hellbender, Atlas Brew Works, 3 Stars and DC Brau”

One more closing to report in Dupont thanks to Andrea:

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
