“Outdoor Fancy Fire Pits & Tabletop Heaters at Two Neighborhood Favorites!”

1648 North Capitol Street, NW

From an email:

“With indoor dining unavailable in DC for the next few weeks, we thought now would be a great time to highlight two perfect (locally owned!) outdoor dining options in the District. The Pub & The People (Bloomingdale) and its sister restaurant, Present Company Public House (Mount Vernon Triangle/Chinatown) offer spacious private fire pits and table top heaters on their open-air patios.

In addition to toasty fires and warm personal propane heaters, we’ve got s’mores, hot cocktails, seat cushions, plus tasty offerings from the kitchen and bar. Reservations can be made on Resy, or by going to thepubandthepeople.com or presentcompanydc.com. Dogs are always welcome on the patio too!

Finally, we would like to announce the launch of Ghost Kitchen Sandwiches! This is a ghost kitchen operating out of the kitchen of Present Company, which is housed in the oldest historic firehouse building in Washington, DC. The Ghostbusters’ Headquarters was a repurposed firehouse, so we’ve played off that theme and developed 14 fun and delicious sandwiches with something for everyone. Dear Universal Studios, please don’t sue us. Dear everyone else, watch Ghostbusters and try these awesome sandwiches. Find us on Doordash or on IG @ghost.kitchen.sandwiches”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
