Missed connection – Navy Yard

Ed. Note: If this is you, please email [email protected] so I can put you in touch with OP. PoPville is not affiliated with either party, please proceed with any potential connection at your own risk using caution as you would any online encounter. For those curious about passed missed connections, some have been made and when possible I’ll try to update when/if more are made. We’ve been told our last missed connection is unfortunately not single.

“Dear PoPville,

Was hoping I can find a young woman who was in front of me at the potbelly’s around noon on Saturday (12/19/2020). She was wearing a men’s bomber jacket with a backwards baseball hat. She held the door open for me and asked if I wanted to order before her. She ordered 4 chicken salad sandwiches with everything on it – I asked her if she’s feeding a family or if its all for her. She laughed and just said “i love me some chicken salad.” We then talked about how the pickled peppers make any sandwich taste good. I introduced myself as Mark and she didn’t tell me her name, but she said she’ll see me around. I was wearing a navy puffer jacket and black jeans with my dog outside, 6’3, 34 and a 5 o’clock shadow. When I kneeled down to unhook my dog’s collar outside, she was gone.

When i walked down the street someone in a grey dodge challenger was at the stop light playing The Box tops- the letter. When I looked at the driver, it was her, but she was busy with an animal in the passenger seat – i even think it was a cat.

I went back to the potbelly’s on Sunday around the same time hoping i’d run into her again. But not luck. I wish I would have given her my number or card, I just didn’t think she’d disappear that quickly. She was really sweet, witty, and quick.

I just want to say, I think you’re beautiful, and would love to buy you a chicken salad sandwich on any given day when you’re not in a rush. Can’t stop myself from writing this after knowing she was playing the box tops letter song.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
