“Hook Hall Helps To Distribute Meals & Supplies To Hospitality Industry Workers”

From an email:

“As restaurants close again this week and restaurant workers are faced with being furloughed, Hook Hall Helps, the hospitality industry workers relief program started in March for the first pandemic shutdown, is being revived. Free meals and supply kits will be distributed every Monday from 3 until 5 pm at Hook Hall, 3400 Georgia Avenue NW. This week there will also be a Christmas Eve distribution from 3 until 5. Hospitality industry recipients will receive a variety of family meals to last three to four days.

Industry workers may pre-register for meal distribution at [email protected] Pre-registration is not required but it allows chefs to know how meals are anticipated.

The Hook Hall Helps project began in March when restaurants were shuttered. Working in partnership with the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington, Hook Hall Helps provided more than 500 meals a week from March until June and raised more than $575,000 in donations to keep the program going.

According to Hook Hall owner Anna Valero, “Through Hook Hall Helps, area hospitality workers receive meals and supplies provided through the generous support of the greater Washington, DC community. To support local restaurants, we compensate kitchens for providing the meals, and a way for all of us to stay connected and give back during these difficult times.”

Restaurants may sign up to create meals at www.hookhall.com/meals. Restaurants will be compensated for the meals they provide.”

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
