CaryRx is a pharmacy based in Northwest that wants to help patients do away with traditional brick-and-mortar pharmacies by providing an easy option to receive their medications in a timely manner, safely, at home.
Why are patients moving from CVS or Walgreens to CaryRx? Simple, CaryRx has created a mobile app that makes the pharmacy experience easy and modern, not to mention they pride themselves on top notch customer service which has received rave reviews.
Since beginning its same-day delivery service in 2017, CaryRx has proven that its business model is viable: Patients can order prescriptions through the CaryRx mobile app to have orders delivered — for free — on the same day, or within the hour, to locations throughout Washington, D.C.; free same-day delivery is also available for Northern Virginia and areas of Maryland that are within 40 miles of the District. Given visiting retail locations isn’t what it once was with COVID-19 and the average wait time in a pharmacy being 45 minutes, free same-day home delivery is a long-awaited and welcome alternative to the large pharmacy chains.
D.C. orders confirmed by 5 p.m. are able to guarantee same-day delivery while those in Maryland and Virginia can get same-day delivery when confirming orders by 1 p.m.
Unlike other “online” medication delivery services, CaryRx operates their own pharmacy located in Shaw and has partnered with Postmates to power same-day delivery. Patients never need to worry if their meds are going to arrive on time; patients can check on their prescription’s status by tracking the driver — a la Uber and Lyft.
New patients can get started in just a few seconds by downloading the CaryRx mobile app and easily transfer prescriptions from their previous pharmacy. Patients with questions about their prescriptions or the service can chat with the licensed pharmacy team directly in the CaryRx app.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!
The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!
What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
