1pm Shooting in Park View, Man Shot in Face in LeDroit/Bloomingdale, Shots Fired on Kennedy Street

From MPD:

“On Saturday, November 7, 2020 at approximately 1pm, in the 3300 block of Georgia Ave, NW, a black male in his 40s, on a red bicycle shot at and struck an adult male. The victim was treated at a local area hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The suspect fled on his bike in an unknown direction.

This case is under investigation by the Fourth District Detectives Office. Any information please contact 202-727-9099.”

From MPD sent at 1am:

“The Third District is currently investigating a shooting in the area of 2nd and Bryant Streets NW. Officers patrolling the area heard the sounds of gunshots and located a vehicle that had been shot up at 2nd/Bryant Streets NW. Meanwhile, an adult male arrived at an area hospital with an injury to the face.

We are working with medical staff to determine if this is a gunshot wound or a wound from glass/debris. The adult male indicated that he sustained his injuries while at 2nd/Bryant Streets NW.

Motorists and pedestrians can expect road closures in the area as we investigate.

“On November 7th 2020 at approximately 10:54pm the Fourth District responded to the 100 block of Kennedy Street NW to investigate sounds of Gunshots. While at the location officers located 8 shell casing in the block along with property damage to a nearby residence. Any information please contact 202-727-9099″

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
