“Church Hall DC, the American beer hall and neighborhood destination located at Georgetown Park, is opening a pop-up biergarten along Georgetown’s historic C&O canal this Wednesday, August 19th.

The biergarten will feature a carefully curated menu. New items like natural bratwurst, gourmet hot dogs, watermelon feta salad with a lemon dressing and a watermelon gazpacho will be available for outdoor dining. In addition the new menu will feature local beers from DC, Maryland, Delaware and Virginia as well as a signature cocktail menu featuring DC distilled spirits. Frozen margaritas will also be available at the pop-up.

Located at 3223 Grace Street is a large outdoor courtyard and the pop-up will accommodate groups of up to six people. The courtyard features red brick archways, iron gates, and manicured flower beds, and enjoys a view over the C&O Canal. They will be open Wednesday through Friday from 4-10pm and Saturday and Sunday from 12-10pm.

To ensure the safety of everyone that visits, Church Hall will be following all DC Reopening Guidelines. Contactless ordering and hand sanitizer will be available and all staff will be wearing masks. In addition, reservations can be made here.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
