Real Estate Fresh Finds: July 15

Real Estate Fresh Finds is a weekly selection of newly-listed properties in the District, brought to you by Real Living At Home.

Featured Property of the Week: 4304 Brandywine Street NW

“Finally a spacious and light-filled home with room for everyone! This home has a fantastic layout; perfect for the long days inside with just the right amount of outdoor green. Sit in the sunny updated kitchen or join from the dining room via the open plan. Working from home for… a long time? Set yourself up in the home office right off the main floor. An airy and serene master bedroom does the trick after a long day with an en-suite master bathroom and walk-in-closet. Three more perfect bedrooms reveal themselves down the hall, including one that can double as a family room — with a walk-in storage closet. Rich hardwood floors, classic D.C. traditional style, plus fresh updated kitchen and bathrooms make this home the perfect balance of old-school and new. Headed back to work soon? No need to worry there’s space for the car in the detached garage, or walk less than half a mile to the Tenleytown/AU Metro station right off the red line. Very close to Whole Foods, 24-hour CVS, Target, Friendship Animal Hospital, great restaurants, Container Store, the public library, and so much more! What else can we say? Welcome Home!”

Other Notable Fresh Listings:

  • The Most Expensive Home of the Week is “this detached stone 6 BR/6.5 BA that occupies a premium lot with landscape design by renowned landscape architect Ben Page. The residence has been completely renovated (architect Christian Zapatka) and original features have been artfully restored”
  • “Classic Row home in hot and happening Trinidad with off street parking for 2 cars makes this a gem you don’t want to miss! Welcome to 1260 Penn Street NE. This 3 level home includes 3 bedrooms and 3 baths with a second story deck perfect for having a drink and relaxing after a long day of work! The main living floor features an open design with a large living room with hardwood floors and lots of natural sunlight that leads to a dream kitchen with quartz island perfect for everyday dining or entertaining.
  • “Come and love the flexibility of this space, we’re talking 3 floors of living space with big square footage, 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths — and that doesn’t even count the big storage area in the basement! Not enough? Be sure to check out the backyard for some outdoor fun. A big bonus is it backs up to the woods which gives a real sense of privacy that not many homes in D.C. can offer.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
