Woke up to a lot of queries about a huge police response on Georgia Ave starting just after 2am:
“did anyone just hear/see the 2 helicopters and dozens of police cars that just sped down Georgia Ave?”
“Saw about 20 cop cars heading from Silver Spring towards DC. Looks like a helicopter was in tow. Anybody know why?”
“I saw the same thing and definitely counted at least 70 police cars and the helicopter. Never seen anything like this in DC – felt like I was back in California.”
“it’s late… but at least 30 police cars have gone flying down 7th street in Shaw!!! It’s insane”
“there is a MAJOR high speed chase going on downtown right now. Tons of police cars from @PGPDNews
and @BowiePDNews”
“I counted about 10 police cars racing down GA Ave (plus a few more I couldn’t count). Loud sirens too (although there’s no traffic). Super weird.”
