Real Estate Fresh Finds: April 22

Real Estate Fresh Finds is a weekly selection of newly-listed properties in the District, brought to you by Real Living At Home.

Featured Property of the Week: 1519 Constitution Avenue NE #101

“Practically in the shadow of the most powerful edifices on Earth, but a world away on a sweet, tree-lined street, this tiny boutique building invites you to make your home in Unit 101. Capitol Hill writ large, but quaintly Kingman Park, this residential neighborhood is not synonymous with politics and power, but with front stoops and flowerbeds. Closer to home, you’ll find The Capital Candy Jar — hence the “sweet” street — at the end of the block, and the welcoming Hill Café just around the corner. But why go out? Let’s stay home and enjoy the open floor plan, with rich wood floors in a dark-chocolate brown.”

“Keep the living area cozy with the gas fireplace, or get cooking in the gourmet kitchen of Frigidaire Gallery stainless-steel appliances and elegant granite countertops. Moving into the bedroom, enjoy the convenience of a separate laundry closet with Samsung washer and dryer. Continue further for the perfect urban oasis, a private deck for casual entertaining or calming rejuvenation. Then, beyond the shared backyard, the coveted off-street parking with your own reserved space. Add the low monthly condo fee and 1519 Constitution Avenue NE, Unit 101, becomes all the sweeter.”

Other Notable Fresh Listings:

  • 4-story Petworth 6 BR/4.5 BA Craftsman has been beautifully renovated and features a wide open floorplan, nanny/in-law suite and a huge backyard with 2-tiered deck, grassy space and off-street parking with a roll-up door.

  • Your REO/Bank-Owned Property of the Week is a 3-story interior row home that could use some fresh paint and finishes to brighten the place up a bit both in the main house and the legal lower-level rental unit.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
