From a press release:
“Ice Cream Jubilee is reopening their locations at The Yards Park, 301 Water Street SE and at 1407 T Street NW from Thursday through Sunday. Ice Cream Jubilee will offer carry-out ice cream pints, bake-at-home cookie dough, and sundae packages. Ice Cream Jubilee is also bringing back both of its popular ice cream and ice cream cake making classes for adults and kids of all ages to enjoy following the COVID-19 pandemic.
In support of first responders and healthcare workers, Ice Cream Jubilee has created care package options to show appreciation for those on the front lines. Additionally, for every $100 spent on these items, Ice Cream Jubilee will donate 10 meals to the Capital Area Food Bank.
“So many people have reached out to support Ice Cream Jubilee and asked how they can help make sure we can re-open when life returns to normal,” said Ice Cream Jubilee founder, Victoria Lai. “In addition to accepting donations, we decided to create unique packages that could give people something to look forward to doing together with friends when this craziness is all over.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!
The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!
What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
