Looks like there’s been some steady progress since we last looked in January. Thanks to a reader for sending: “Peeked my head inside the former Republic Gardens and was shocked / pleasantly surprised to see construction going on in there…looks like a full gut.”
Back in May 2019 we learned that a new bar called Alice was planned for the retail space at the former State of the Union next door:
“A new Retailer’s Class C Tavern with a seating capacity of 225 and a Total Occupancy Load of 325. Rooftop Summer Garden on the second floor with 70 seats. Licensee is requesting an Entertainment Endorsement to include Dancing and Cover Charge inside the premises only.”
