Real Estate Fresh Finds: October 2

Real Estate Fresh Finds is a weekly selection of newly-listed properties in the District, brought to you by Real Living At Home.

Featured Property of the Week: 4222 8th Street NW #1

Welcome to this BRAND NEW condo conversion right in the heart of Petworth! With over 2,200 square feet, this beautiful 4 BR/4 BA 2-level Federal townhouse looks like it’s right out of an HGTV home makeover with everything from the modern colors to the classic finishes and layout. “The open concept living/dining/kitchen area is massive with multiple arrangements/sitting areas, as well as plenty of light (detached on 3 sides).”

The kitchen is perfect for chefs of all types, with “Jenn-Air, stainless-steel appliances, under-cabinet lighting, quartz counters, slow close cabinetry and an island with breakfast counter.” Completing the home are the gorgeous hardwood floors, a welcoming front porch and 1 highly-coveted off-street parking space. This stunner hasn’t been built for long and it certainly won’t last on the market either, so if you like this one get yourself a showing booked so you can see it for yourself!

Other Notable Fresh Listings:

  • The Most Expensive Home of the Week is “this 5 BR/6.5 BA villa [that] sits on a 19,000+ SF hilltop in Massachusetts Ave Heights and has been graciously and extensively expanded over four levels.”
  • A larger-than-typical 1 BR condo unit at Georgetown Gateway has 900 square feet with intricate crown molding and a plethora of building amenities.
  • Right off the H Street Corridor is this 3 BR/2.5 BA Federal interior rowhome that includes a lower level rental opportunity with 1 BR/1 BA that could immediately offset your mortgage cost!
  • Your REO/Bank-Owned Property of the Week is a 2 BR/3 BA rowhome conveniently located in Brightwood near the Takoma Metro and Rock Creek Park.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
