Today’s Rental was chosen because I liked the description

This rental is located at 5th Street NW near Q Street NW. The Craigslist ad says:

“$2550 / 2br – 875ft2 – Great apartment (2bd/1bath) in great spot (Shaw) for great peeps (you)

Hey everyone!!! We are hoping you’ll love this place as much as we do!!!!

First off, you can’t beat the location. The apartment is on a quiet street (5th Street near Q), but is walking distance to all of the new not-so-quiet hot spots in Shaw and U Street. Or, if you wanna get away, the Shaw metro (Green/Yellow line) is only five minutes away by foot. And then you’ve also got a bunch of buses nearby that’ll easily take you straight to Columbia Heights, Chinatown, NOMA, Dupont Circle, or wherever else you wanna get to. Got a car? No problem…there’s easy, zoned parking available on the street. (And we can help you get a permit!)

So more about the apartment: it has 2 good-sized bedrooms with large-closets, 1 bath with shower/tub, a big living room, a nice kitchen with a year-old powerful gas stove/range, newly upgraded central A/C, and a washer/dryer in the unit. We installed brand spankin’ new hardwood floors a couple of years ago! It’s on the ground-floor, which makes it super convenient for things like bikes or strollers, and is part of a small (6 unit) building that has a large shared backyard … which you’ll love for hanging out with friends (or chillaxing alone in the sun).

It’s being listed for rent by owner (no agents please). It’s probably best suited for a couple (with a kid or without) or two roommates who wanna share the place.

(Currently, one room is occupied — the second room is free. The current occupant is interested in staying, if someone is interested in renting the other room. Or, both rooms are available under a new contract!)

Shoot us a note if you have any questions or wanna see it!”

Ed. Note: PoPville is not affiliated with any ‘Rental of the Day’ properties. Rent at your own risk and proceed with caution as you would with all Craigslist listings.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
