Unfortunately I was out of town over the weekend and received many messages about crime reports over the weekend. While I try to tweet these out as I get them, I’m posting them here for posterity and our historical record. Thanks to all who messaged me and apologies for the late reply.
From Friday:
“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Sexual Assault Unit are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a suspect in connection with a Burglary One and Second Degree Sexual Abuse offense that occurred on Friday, August 30, 2019, in the 1300 block 30th Street, Northwest.
At approximately 1:30 AM, the suspect gained entry to a private residence. Once inside, the suspect sexually assaulted a female victim. The suspect then fled the scene.
The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 20-30 years in age, with bald or short hair. He was last seen wearing a black shirt.
Anyone who has information regarding this case should call police at 202-727 9099. Additionally, information may be submitted to the TEXT TIP LINE by sending a text message to 50411.”
From Saturday August 31st:
“The First District is currently conducting an investigation into shots being fired in the 1100 block of I St SE. At this time no one has been struck. A vehicle in the area was struck.
The suspects involved in this incident have been described as 2 black male juveniles riding a blue and black Revel Moped.
Should you have any information about this incident, investigators can be contacted at the First District Detectives Office (202) 299-2025, or the Metropolitan Police Department’s Command Incident Center at (202) 727-9099.”
MPD would like to announce two arrests have been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) offense that occurred on 8/31/19 in the 1200 blk of I St., SE.

Saturday:
“First District members are currently investigating a call for sounds of gunshots in the area around the 1300 block of Half Street SW. The alert came in around 11:15pm.. ….Anyone with information relating to this is asked to call 202-727-9099 or email me directly at [email protected]..
On 8/31/19, at approximately 11:15 pm, Officers from the First District responded to the 1400 block of Half St SW for the sounds of multiple gunshots. On scene, officers found several shell casings on the ground as well as damage to a parked, unoccupied vehicle. A short time later, an adult male victim checked himself into an area hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The victim told officers that he had been at the location of the shooting, but did not provide any further information.
Minutes later, at approximately 11:20 hours, officers investigating the above incident heard a single gunshot in the area of the 200 block of N St SW. Responding officers found a male victim with a gunshot wound to the hand. The victim was transported to an area hospital for further treatment. The victim in this incident did not provide a usable description of any suspect[s].
At this time, we do not believe that these incidents are related. Both of these incidents are actively under investigation by First District Detectives. If you have any information about either shooting, please contact the First District Detectives at (202) 299-2025, or the Metropolitan Police Department’s Command Information Center at (202) 727-9099.”
Sunday:
“The Fifth District is investigating a shooting that occurred on Sunday, September 1, 2019 at approximately 1:25 am.
The adult male victim was found in the 900 block of Rhode Island Avenue, NE suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Anyone who may have information pertaining to this investigation is asked to call 202-727-9099, or may send a text message to 50411.”
Shooting in the 900 block of Rhode Island Avenue NE. Lookout for (2) B/M's. Suspect (1) was wearing a white shirt that read "black lives matter", Suspect (2) has a beard is wearing a green shirt and a red coat.

Sunday:
“The Fifth District is investigating a shooting that occurred on Sunday, September 1, 2019 at approximately 10:20 PM, near the intersection of 4th Street and T Street, NE.
A victim was found suffering from gunshot wounds and was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Anyone who may have information pertaining to this investigation is asked to call 202-727-9099, or may send a text message to 50411.”
