“Lively Tiki Cocktail Bar and Eatery” coming to Adams Morgan this month

2411 18th Street, NW

From a press release:

“Rum Day DC Co-founder Jonathan Peterson and Saab Harrison, formerly of Service Bar Will Open “Tiki On 18th,” a Lively Tiki Cocktail Bar and Eatery, July 2019.

Jonathan Peterson has earned a reputation for building brands nationally, as well as in the DMV area and as Co-founder of Rum Day DC, Rum Cocktail Club, and the Rum Block Party in Baltimore. Saab Harrison has honed his craft creating cocktails during his time at Service bar, as well as with Drink Company.

Patrons will be amazed by the decor of Tiki On 18th used to create the vibe of paradise, courtesy of Pearl Madryga at Roam Interiors.

Tiki on 18th carries a natural flow accented by Phillippe Starck’s Kartell Collection of iconic Masters Stools in sage green and the radiant hanging Fly Lamps. The wallpaper has an air of distinction and movement layering leaves in lush green hues throughout. Tiki on 18th takes Tiki a step higher and leaves one feeling found and hopefully a bit lit.

Tiki On 18th will be located in the historic Adams Morgan corridor at 2411 18th Street NW. This lively Tiki Cocktail Bar and Eatery will offer Tiki cocktails, a dinner and brunch menu that is a fusion of traditional Polynesian and Mexican dishes. Tiki enthusiast can expect classic tiki cocktails like Missionaries Downfall or the Trinidad Sour for nostalgia and modern tiki concoctions. In addition, a curated beer menu befitting such a place and a rota0ng spirits list featuring flights of rum, tequila and mezcal. The spirits list will be a rotation of staff favorites.

Tiki On 18th is a collaborative venture between Jonathan Peterson, Co-founder of Rum Day DC, Saab Harrison, formerly of Service Bar and The Game Sports Pub ownership.

Tiki On 18th is located upstairs at 2411 18th St. NW. Hours of operation will be 6pm – 1am Thursday – Saturday and Sunday 12pm – 8pm.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
