Real Estate Fresh Finds: May 15

Real Estate Fresh Finds is a weekly selection of newly-listed properties in the District, brought to you by Real Living At Home.

Featured Property of the Week: 61 Rhode Island Avenue NW

This COMING SOON “one-of-a-kind Grand Dame Victorian in Bloomingdale” is a breathtaking marvel of both original and new elements, blended together to create a relaxing and inviting home in which to live. With 4 levels, this 6 BR open layout is loaded with beautiful features including hardwood floors, high ceilings, intricate crown molding and even has two master bedroom suites.

This home has undergone a bevy of renovations such as a brand-new roof, HVAC systems and the master bathrooms in both suites have been updated. The listing also includes 4 rear off-street parking spaces and the lower level is its own fully rentable unit to offset your mortgage and make some extra money in the process! Keep an eye out for the listing going live tomorrow with open houses scheduled for this upcoming weekend.

Other Notable Fresh Listings:

  • The Most Expensive Home of the Week is a 6 BR/8 BA “designed by award-winning GTM Architects,” boasting 5,600 square feet that span 4 levels and features multiple balconies, a serene deck and a lush, green backyard.
  • “Brand new, fully-renovated 2-level, 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath pet-friendly condo with private roof deck and parking in the heart of Petworth.”
  • Light-filled Hill East 2 BR with large windows in a boutique condo building.
  • Your REO/Bank-Owned Property of the Week is a 3 BR detached home in AS-IS condition and will most definitely need either someone who likes to renovate homes themselves or has enough money to pay someone else to do it.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
