Shooting in Logan Circle; Two Shootings in Trinidad; 9:40pm Armed Carjacking on H Street, NE; 12:30am Armed Carjacking in Brookland

“The Metropolitan Police Department’s Third District is currently investigating a shooting which occurred at about 1:30 AM this morning in the 1300 block of Riggs Street, NW. The victim, an adult male, sustained a single gunshot wound to the right leg and was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

“On 2/23/2019, at approximately 1:09 AM, Fifth District units responded for the report of a man down, inside of the 7-Eleven at 900 Bladensburg Road, NE. Once the officers arrived, they learned that the adult male complainant had suffered an apparent gun shot wound to the torso. The complainant was rushed to the hospital, conscious and breathing, where he is in stable condition.

“Armed Carjacking (Gun) at 2139 hrs in the 1300 b/o H Street NE. Lookout for (2) B/M’s wearing black clothing and one Suspect armed with a handgun. Stolen was a 2014 Silver Chevy Impala 4 door, bearing VA VVE-5544.

“On 2/23/2019, at approximately 12:30 AM, members of the Fifth District responded to the 3200 block of 16th Street, NE, for the report of an armed carjacking. Once on the scene, the officers learned that the complainant, a taxi-driver, had responded to the location to pick up a fare. Once he arrived, he was approached by a suspect who brandished a handgun and demanded the complainant’s vehicle. Two additional suspects then entered the vehicle, and all three drove away towards 16th and Kearny Street, NE. The complainant was not injured.

The look out is for a black 2016 Ford Focus, bearing a Maryland tag of 61434B. The vehicle also has Barwood Taxi markings on it.
