Columbia Heights Day Announcements

I received the following announcements via email.

Meeting Wed. April 9th 7pm @ Red Rocks Pizza

The following positions are still open and we are also looking for enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers to work on all committees:

Latino Outreach Coordinator – An individual fluent in Spanish, who is able to develop and implement a strategy to increase participation in the festival by Latin business owners and community organizations, as well as transcribe marketing copy into Spanish.  More details after the jump.

Non-music Performance Coordinator – An individual who is able to solicit and organize performances by non-musical acts, such as dance performances, step troops, and exhibitions.

Earned Media Coordinator – A seasoned professional with contacts in local media to obtain press coverage and prominent listings for media advisories for the festival and its fundraisers.

Community Outreach – An individual, skilled in public speaking, to create and implement participation by local community service organizations.

Committees: 

Logistics – Permitting, capital procurement

Event Coordination – Vendor, business, and community participation (including children/families activities and senior’s areas)

Performance – Talent management, sound management and permitting

Volunteer – Obtain participation and manage coordination and benefits

Development – Manages all fundraising (shirts, events, sponsorship and grants)

Fundraiser for Columbia Heights Day in conjunction with the DC Rape Crisis Center Kickball Tournament

Come cheer on the Wonderland Ballroom and Columbia Heights Day kickball team in a tournament to benefit the DC Rape Crisis Center.

Saturday, April 26th 11am at Harriet Tubman Elementary School

Black and White Columbia Heights Day/Wonderland Ballroom shirts with last year’s design will be offered for the final time at this fundraiser.  They will be available on a first-come-first-serve at the Wonderland patio for donations of $20 or more.  To ensure you get one, pre-order with columbiaheightsdayshirts@gmail.com through April 12th
Basshound ( www.myspace.com/basshound, ) who will be performing at the All Good Festival this year, will be playing live at the Wonderland Ballroom for this event.
