“Any info on the incident shutting down N Capital just north of RI? Seems like they’ve roped off at least a couple blocks”

Uncle Jazz reported:

“I heard the shots. A clear 5 shots. Victim was hit across North Cap from The Pub and the People. Ambulance was on the scene quickly and the victim was conscious.”

From MPD Tuesday night:

“Earlier today Fifth District Units responded to the 1700 Blk of Lincoln Rd NE for a call for a shooting. Officers located an adult male victim in the 1600 Blk of North Capitol St NE suffering from gunshot wounds to the arm and leg.

The victim reported being in the 1700 Blk of Lincoln Rd NE when he became involved in a verbal altercation with the suspect. The suspect produced a handgun and fired multiple rounds at the victim. The victim was transported to an area hospital and is in stable condition. The case is currently being investigated by the Fifth District’s Detectives Officer. Anyone with information regarding the shooting are urged to contact MPD at 202-727-9099.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
