“Dear PoPville,
I got a gift certificate for my husband to do one of those paint/wine activities at Uncork’d Art in Adams Morgan way back for Christmas. We didn’t get around to it immediately after the holidays, and then, since March it appears they have been remodeling and offering no classes in Adams Morgan and only very rarely classes in other locations. It’s now August and there has been no sign of progress–and no classes are being offered.
I wrote to them asking for a refund with no luck. It seems to me like a scam that they would sell gift certificates for products they cannot honor. Is there any recourse (other than writing bad reviews online) that we can take? I can hardly tell if they are still an operating business or not! Other than that, I wanted to notify readers.”
Side note: While we’re here, what the word on that new sports bar in the old Habana Village space too?
