From a press release:

“With the hotly anticipated opening of D.C. United’s Audi Field on July 14, 2018, Chef José Andrés’ ThinkFoodGroup today revealed the culinary lineup for soccer fans to enjoy on game days. The highly curated food and beverage program is a result of the joint venture between ThinkFoodGroup and Levy, a subsidiary of Compass Group USA, which was announced in April of 2017. The partnership presents an unprecedented and unrivaled powerhouse of two best-in-class companies – the culinary creativity of ThinkFoodGroup and the operational expertise of Levy and Compass, the nation’s foremost foodservice management company.

“Watching a soccer game at Audi Field will be an amazing experience, and I’m so excited for the fans to experience what we have been working on,” commented Andrés. “This is a special project, and we have worked to incorporate what fans have grown to love, with a few new surprises! This partnership gives us the unique opportunity to extend our reach and bring high quality dining experiences to the many!”

Audi Field will open with La Pepa and Butterfly Tacos y Tortas as well as three portable carts serving offerings from La Pepa and Butterfly Tacos y Tortas. For D.C. United suite holders, there is a separate curated experience featuring Spanish offerings including Iberico de Bellota Mini Hamburguesas, Gambas Al Ajillo, Flan al Estilo Tradicional and more.

La Pepa is a Spanish sandwich concept, based on ThinkFoodGroup’s popular food truck, Pepe, with offerings that were crowd-tested earlier this year in the company’s ThinkFoodLab. La Pepa will feature a Pan De Cristal sandwich, pressed Bikini sandwiches and more between two concessions, and will also have one portable cart serving jamón flautas and pressed sandwiches.

Butterfly Tacos y Tortas will have one concession at Audi Field, featuring a variety of tacos, tortas (Mexican sandwiches) and more. Also developed at the company’s ThinkFoodLab, the menu is an offshoot of its Oyamel restaurant, and will feature tacos such as the Hongos Taco (grilled King Trumpet mushrooms marinated in maggi sauce topped with housemade salsa serrano and fresh cilantro), tortas like the Milanesa de Pollo con Chipotle (crispy breaded chicken breast with frijoles, Oaxaca cheese, and avocado), and other game-friendly dishes such as the Papas Al Mole, or fries with mole sauce. To drink, Butterfly will offer a selection of bebidas including beer and a specialty cocktail. There will also be two Butterfly portable carts for fans to enjoy — one cart serving guacamole and chips, and another featuring Mexican street corn.

All offerings will be available once Audi Field opens on July 14, 2018.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
