Thanks to Randy for sending:

“Just walked by new building on Pennsylvania Ave NW Between 21&22 and liquor license is up for “Flower Child”. Preliminary googling shows a restaurant from Dallas with healthy food making a dc debut.”

The liquor license placard for Flower Child says:

“New Class D Restaurant serving fast casual cuisine. Seating Capacity of 140. Total Occupancy Load of 165. Sidewalk Cafe with 40 seats.”

Flower Child‘s website says:

“At Flower Child, we make every last bite from scratch, using fresh ingredients from close to home and serving healthy food that takes you to a happy place. That’s our promise to you, whether you’re vegetarian, vegan, paleo, or just hungry. And just because we can do sugar-free, dairy-free and gluten-free doesn’t mean we do flavor-free… because where’s the happy in that?

We’re on a simple, soul-satisfying mission to radiate positively delicious vibes. So whether you’re in the mood to relax and dine in, or just grabbing a quick healthy bite to go, join us and nourish your mind, body and soul.”

And next door to Flower Child is another placard for a restaurant called North Italia which says:

“New Class “C” Restaurant offering casual Italian dining. Total Occupancy Load of 260 with seating for 190 patrons and a Sidewalk Café for 40 patrons.”

North Italia’s website says:

“North Italia is more than just an Italian restaurant. We’re a group of folks who have become family, bonded by our mutual affinity for all things Italian. We’ve come to understand that there’s an art to the handcrafted experience, especially when it comes to Italian cuisine–something that we aim to perfect every day. Our kitchen is as open as it gets because we’re proud to show you our menu is handmade from scratch, with love, daily. To us, nothing is quite as satisfying as sharing a dish of homemade pasta and basking in post-meal bliss together.”
