Keep your eyes peeled for this unique looking cargo bike stolen in Adams Morgan

“Dear PoPville,

Someone stole my cherished cargo bike (Workcycles Kr8) from our garage behind Lanier Pl in Adams Morgan the night of Thursday, May 24. As you can see in the picture, it’s a funny looking wheelbarrow-bike hybrid version of the family van, so I’m hoping someone in the community will see it and alert me (202-556-0665) or the police. I do have Tiles on both the bike and the keys, and got an alert Sunday night that the one for my keys was spotted in DuPont, but by the time we got there, it was gone.

PSA:

Please consider downloading the Tile app and leaving it running in the background – even if you don’t have one – so your phone can pick up a missing Tile, ping the owner with the updated location, and help recover a lost or stolen item! It’s anonymous (the owner won’t know who you are), unobtrusive (requires no further action on your part), and won’t drain your battery (just 2% over the last 7 days, according to my phone).

Thanks, all, and don’t forget to (double, triple, quadruple) lock up all your belongings!”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
