MONDAY, MARCH 12

MURAL MONDAYS: Head to Listen Vision, D.C.’s oldest recording studio, for its Mural Mondays event. Check out goods from local painters, photographers, potters, glass blowers, and more while grooving to the DJs that will be there all day spinning. Don’t forget to check out the murals, sculptures, and prints on display, too. (Listen Vision Recording Studios, 12 noon – 10 p.m., FREE)

SHOWTIME: Warm up those pipes: It’s Showtunes & Cocktails tonight. Grab a drink and stand around the piano as you belt out new and old show favorites with other musical lovers. Actors from Adventure Theatre and Folger Theater will be there, too, to provide expert backup. (Beacon Bar & Grill, 7 p.m., FREE)

DRINK YOUR COOKIE: A guest bartender from Service Bar will be mixing up drinks at The Royal tonight. The best part? They’ll all be inspired by Girl Scout cookies. Think Tagalongs and Thin Mints in cocktail form, plus edible Girl Scout cookie shot glasses. (The Royal, 9 – 1 a.m., FREE)

POD IT UP: Ever wanted to be on-air? Learn everything you need to know at “I’m Totally Starting a Podcast: Learning to Love the Mic,” a panel moderated by Lauren Ober of NPR. ISRAELI COOKING: Even if you’re not hosting Passover seder, who wouldn’t want to learn Israeli recipes? Chef and food writer Vered Guttman will be at Sixth & I to walk you through recipes for dishes like roasted lamb, almond marzipan, and haroset. Afterwards, you’ll get to sit down for a full kosher meal. (Sixth & I, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., $30)

WATERCOLOR + COCKTAILS: Cookbook author and illustrator Marcella Kriebel will host Watercolor + Cocktails tonight. Head to Union Market to try a cocktail from Buffalo and Bergen while you use watercolors to fill in an illustration of the cocktail by Kriebel. All materials are included, and Kriebel will be on-hand for painting tips. (Union Market, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., $50)

STAY AWARE: Get updated on what’s going on in your city at tonight’s State of Ward 7 Address. Councilmember Vincent Gray will talk about recent legislation, how to engage in your community, and plans for the ward’s future. RUMI ON-STAGE: Come see words brought to life: Washington National Cathedral and The Aspen Institute will host The Rumi Concert tonight. The famous poetry by 13th-century writer Jelaluddin Rumi will be brought to life by five different kind of performers, from a cellist to a singer to a dancer. NAT GEO NIGHTS: Dive into the exotic, adventurous world of National Geographic at tonight’s Nat Geo night happy hour. You’ll meet three Nat Geo explorers – a conservationist, a big cat biologist, and a environmental technologist – will will tell you about their stories from the front lines over cocktails. A ticket to the event gets you free admission to the museum, too. (National Geographic Museum, 5:30 – 8 p.m., $20)
