Your Afternoon Animal Fix – AdoPtville

If you have any animal/pet photos you’d like to share for the regular fix please send an email to princeofpetworth(at)gmail(dot)com with ‘Animal Fix’ in the title and say the name of your pet and your neighborhood. AdoPtville is run by two volunteers who compile these pets weekly from local shelters.

Sometimes when life gets a little ruff, you need some help from your friends. Carrie and Jazzy’s owner passed away unexpectedly, and they find themselves in need of a new home. Carrie is approximately 9 years old, and Jazzy is about 3 years old. They are both good with other dogs and kids, are house trained, and are very sweet girls with moderate energy levels. They need to go to a home together, so Rural Dog Rescue will reduce the adoption fee to make sure these lovely ladies find the right new family. To find out more about Carrie and Jazzy, check out their pages here or email [email protected]

Toby (a/k/a Toby Too) is too cute, too sweet, and too years old (was that too much?)! Obviously Toby is incredible handsome, but he’s also playful, snuggly, and affectionate! He’s very fond of having his ears scratched, so will help you relax by hanging out on your lap while you do it! He’s a goofy, fun boy looking for his fur-ever home. He finds change and chaos a little unsettling (don’t we all?), so would do best in a calmer environment, but he gets along with other cats and love love loves his people! You can find out more about and apply to adopt Toby here or email his foster family at [email protected]

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
