Your Afternoon Animal Fix – AdoPtville

If you have any animal/pet photos you’d like to share for the regular fix please send an email to princeofpetworth(at)gmail(dot)com with ‘Animal Fix’ in the title and say the name of your pet and your neighborhood. AdoPtville is run by two volunteers who compile these pets weekly from local shelters.

Wally is a gorgeous snow white fellow who found himself looking for a forever home at the tender age of 9 years young. It’s high time that Wally finds a safe and loving home to call his own. He is an affable, sweet, and somewhat goofy guy who is looking for a great place to spend his senior years. He is sociable, easy-going, and super friendly! Wally might have a bit of a hearing problem (or he has the tendency to ignore us while we coo sweet nothings in his ear…), but he doesn’t let this affect his sweet disposition or his enjoyment of life- it just means that he needs a bit of special understanding. Please contact Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation if you’d like to meet this fantastic gentleman: [email protected].

“Casie Cat” is a beautiful, 4-year old calico with a “perma-kitten” face. Her foster parents say she’s a purr machine! Independent but affectionate, Casie wants to be in the same room as her humans. She’s very communicative and will thank you with cute chirps at mealtime. Casie is also a wonderful contradiction: a gorgeous long-haired cat who seems to hardly shed. Her ideal forever home won’t have other furry pets or children. To learn more about how to visit or adopt Casie, please check out her webpage at http://kingstreetcats.rescuegroups.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=11205729 or contact her friends at King Street Cats, [email protected].

Robert the Orange – Robert is a sweet, loving little guy. He is very friendly and playful and always wants to be in the middle of the action. He loves head and ear scratches. Robert loves to play with any type of toy, from a feather on a stick, to a ball, or a stuffed animal. He loves the laser and loves to explore. He loves to be with his human. He’ll sit outside the bathroom, waiting for you, and if the door is open, he’ll come right in, looking for head scratches. If you need a break from playing, he’ll happily sit in the window, watching everything going on outside and when you call him, he’ll run right over for more playtime. He is happy to sit in his brown paper bag and pretend it is his tiger cave. He would love to have another cat or dog to play and snuggle with in his new home. Please contact Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation to meet Robert:  [email protected].

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
