Your Afternoon Animal Fix – AdoPtville

If you have any animal/pet photos you’d like to share for the regular fix please send an email to princeofpetworth(at)gmail(dot)com with ‘Animal Fix’ in the title and say the name of your pet and your neighborhood. AdoPtville is run by two volunteers who compile these pets weekly from local shelters.

Bradley is looking for a new home and new luck in the New Year. He’s had a genuinely rough life – he was rescued from an abusive situation where he had to be removed by police. While Bradley still bears the physical scars of his abuse, he is a gentle and submissive dog, who is good with other dogs and all people. Despite his horrible past, he has never shown aggression, and is very loving and sweet. Approximately 5 years old, Bradley is a black Labrador / American Staffordshire Terrier mix. He is crate- and house-trained, and is working on his leash skills too – he loves walks! He’s a solid guy – weighs about 70 lbs., but his foster mom calls him a big love bug! Bradley’s foster family also advises that he is snuggly, playful, and is loving the attention and affection that comes with living in a kind home. Now he’s ready to find his forever family, where he can show off his resilience and gentle temperament. To apply to adopt Bradley, please go to http://worthydog.org/adopt/available-dogs/#action_0=pet&animalID_0=11542003&petIndex_0=5 or email his friend [email protected]

Buster is a young fellow in search of his forever home!  Rescued from a hoarding situation, he is approximately 3 years old, and is a total sweetheart!  Buster’s personality is as awesome as his face is handsome – he’s friendly, gentle, loving and very mellow. Buster adores his foster family and purrs happily when being showered with the affection he deserves!  Due most likely to fighting for survival in his hoarding situation, Buster is FIV-positive, but is currently very healthy.  While FIV sounds scary, it cannot be transmitted to humans or dogs – in fact, it only gets transmitted between cats due to deep puncture bites.  So Buster can definitely share a home with other pets, just not ones that like to fight.  He will need to have high-quality food and regular veterinary care, but all good kitties want that!  To learn more about or apply to adopt Buster, please check out his webpage at http://www.kingstreetcats.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=12223505 or contact his friends at King Street Cats, [email protected]

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
