About Republic Cantina coming to Truxton Circle (if the objectors don’t muck it up) “this goes way deeper than just kolaches.”

57 N Street, NW from September

From Republic Kolache:

“We’re super excited to announce we’re (finally) opening a brick & mortar storefront. And this goes way deeper than just kolaches.

Meet Republic Cantina, a full-service Tex-Mex restaurant (launching Summer 2018) and specializing in all the Tex-Mex classics done right for the first time in DC! (+ some creative spins as well)

We’ve signed a lease in a beautiful historic building in DC’s Truxton Circle neighborhood, where we will turn out sizzlin’ brisket fajitas, light, fluffy housemade flour tortillas, supple, cheesy enchiladas, puffy tacos, honey-drizzled sopapillas, frozen margaritas & more, all the long day.

From our fledgling early days as a popup kolache bakery (American Ice anyone?) this is a huge step for us, and we’re humbly asking for the support of our loyal customers. We’re launching a fun little program whereby you can ‘Buy a Brick’ on our Wall of Supporters, thereby permanently etching your name in DC Tex-Mex history!

If you miss real Tex-Mex as much as we do, please consider supporting. Read all the details here — and note these make good holiday gifts! (Commemorative certificate available for placing under the tree).

More fun rewards are also available at various levels (Kickstarter-style), from koozies to exclusive invites to a Supporters sneak preview dinner!

It’s been quite the journey since 2014 when I had the hare-brained idea to quit my design job, take a family kolache recipe and launch what is now a full-fledged wholesale bakery operation supplying DC-area cafes & grocery stores with fresh kolaches daily.

However, building a sense of ‘place’ (as best we could in the popups) and serving folks directly has always been the fun part for me, so this is very gratifying to finally have a home for our customers. And we’re super excited for you to share in this next step of the journey with us.

Hit me up direct with any questions. We’re excited to share a brisket taco & a cold Texan beer with you starting next summer!

(Oh and btw the kolache popups are open as usual this weekend at Hill Country & Reliable Tavern. Pre-order here for pickup from Hill Country).”

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
