Real Estate Fresh Finds: Oct. 4

Real Estate Fresh Finds is a weekly selection of newly-listed properties in the District, brought to you by Real Living At Home.

Whether you’re looking to be a landlord or have buku-bucks for a gigantic house with rooms you’ll never use, this week’s new homes to hit the market cover a wide range of styles and price ranges. Check out our “Fresh Finds” below:

  • Our winner for the most expensive home of the week (and quite possibly the year) is an $18m, 15,000 sq. ft., obnoxiously large Colonial in Wesley Heights with “50 ft. heated pool and separate guest/pool house” as well as 2 garages, exercise room and “theatre.”
  • This row house in the Logan Circle/U Street area is technically 2 2-bedroom units, that says were previously rented for as high as $2,300/month, meaning that $900k price tag could get offset by rental income.
  • End unit 3 bedroom on the edge of Petworth has both a garage and backyard, two very rare and coveted features in DC.
  • A “spacious loft-like studio unit” in the Kalorama Triangle looks fairly manageable for being your REO property of the week.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
